The Bharat Bandh, organised by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), a coalition of farmers' unions, began at 6 a.m. on monday to commemorate the first anniversary of the implementation of the three agricultural laws. The 10-hour Bharat Bandh would be enforced freely and peacefully, according to an umbrella group of more than 40 farmer unions. The SKM has provided comprehensive instructions and has asked everyone to participate in the strike.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a parasol organisation of over 40 farm unions, is leading today's demonstration from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The organisation has said that movement on some portions of national roads would be prohibited.

Congress leader Rahul gandhi expressed support for protesting farmers on monday, saying the farmers' nonviolent 'satyagraha' is still going strong, but the "exploitative" government doesn't like it, which is why a 'Bharat Bandh' has been announced.
The congress has invited its workers that includes the senior leaders to join the 'Bharat Bandh' called by farmer unions in protest of the Centre's three agro legislation. Farmers' request for a Bharat Bandh is backed by the AAP.
