We removed CCTV cameras from the room for Jayalalithaa's personal rights: Apollo Hospital argues in supreme Court

The Apollo Hospital has argued in the supreme court that the CCTV cameras in the room where jayalalithaa was treated were removed because of the privacy of Jayalalithaa.

The Arumugasamy Commission of Inquiry into the death of former chief minister jayalalithaa has appealed to the supreme court on behalf of Apollo Hospital seeking an injunction. The supreme court, which heard the case, has imposed an interim injunction on the Arumugasamy Commission from 2019. A petition has been filed on behalf of the Commission to lift the ban.

The case is being heard by Justices Abdul Nasir and krishna Murari.

Apollo Hospital Advocate C. Aryamasundaram: We are not asking for the commission to be dissolved. The commission does not include medical professionals. That is why we demand the formation of a committee consisting of medical professionals.

Tamil Nadu State Counsel Dushyant Dwivedi: The chennai High court has already dismissed the case against the Arumugasamy Commission.

Commission Advocate Ranjith Kumar: Only 4 more witnesses have to be questioned. The report will be submitted if they are also questioned.

Aryama Sundaram: The Arumugasamy Commission has not conducted a medical report inquiry into Jayalalithaa's death. Before coming to Apollo, jayalalithaa had been taking medicine for a heart attack.

Judges: Given that 90 per cent of the work of the Commission of Inquiry has been completed, are these arguments necessary?

Aryama Sundaram: The functions and functions of the Commission are not yet complete. Many more political leaders have yet to be questioned. This is a matter of the reputation of the hospital. It has the right to oppose from the outset if it deems it stigmatizing.

What is the reason for summoning our doctors only to continue to investigate with a guilty attitude without questioning important leaders? We removed the CCTV cameras from the hospital premises, including the room where jayalalithaa was staying, because the authorities demanded her removal, saying Jayalalithaa's personal rights were important.

Thus the argument took place. Following this, the judges today adjourned the case for further arguments.
