National Tourism Day and its History!!!


History of the sector that plays an important role in the indian economy. January 25 is observed as National Tourism Day. This day highlights the importance of tourism which has a positive impact on the economy of the country due to the diversity and multiculturalism in India. However, this is why it is called Tourism Day.


National Tourism Day is celebrated in india to create awareness about the importance of tourism and its cultural and economic value to the community around the world. The central government has established this day to recognize tourism as an essential sector for the cultural and economic development of the country. Because every region of the country has a classic history associated with different cultures. 

It is not known exactly from which year this day has been celebrated. However, in 1948 the Tourism Board was set up to promote tourism. Its first regional offices were established in delhi and Mumbai, 3 years later in 1951, a few offices were set up in kolkata and Chennai. A private sector related to tourism was established in 1958 under the Ministry of Tourism and Communications. This was headed by the Deputy General.
