How to choose a national flag?
The flag can be small or big. But the ratio between the length (width) and height of the national flag should be 3:2. Therefore, the flag should be rectangular and not square or any other shape. After the amendment on december 30, 2021, the flag can be hand-spun and hand-woven or machine-made, made of cotton, polyester, wool, silk, or khadi. If the flag is placed in an open field or in a public house, it can be flown day and night.
Can a damaged flag be loaded?
It is against the rules to hoist a damaged or defaced national flag. At all times, the national flag should be displayed in a respectful position. No other flag shall be accepted higher than or beside the National Flag. No material including flowers, garlands, or symbols should be placed on or above the flag being flown. The tricolor should not be used for decorative purposes either. It should not place any advertisement on the flying pole.
Is it right to wear the tricolor to show love for the nation?
A person is prohibited by law from using the national flag as a garment or part of a uniform. It should not be worn below the waist of any person. The national flag should not be designed or printed on cushions, handkerchiefs, etc.

After Independence Day, What to do with the Tricolor ?

The tricolor should not be stored in such a way that it gets dirty or damaged. If your flag is damaged, do not discard it or treat it with disrespect. Holders of paper flags should not throw these on the ground after the ceremony. The flag is not allowed to trail on land or water.

What is the punishment for insulting the flag?

According to Section 2 of the Prevention of Desecration of National Monuments Act, “The National Flag shall not be burnt, defaced, desecrated, destroyed, trampled or insulted (by words, spoken, written or deed) in any public place or public view. Such contravention shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three years or with a fine or both.
