Grade 10 girl dies after having lunch; 25 hospitalised...

Officials reported on saturday that a Class 10 student at a Kanyashram in the Balasore district of odisha passed away while 25 other girls were sent to the hospital after eating lunch at their dormitory.

When three Purubai Kanyashram pupils in the Balasore district's Soro town started vomitting, they were promptly taken to the local government hospital, and two of them were transferred there late on friday night.

A student from Class 10 called Rabina Singh passed away while receiving medical care at the hospital early on Saturday. During that day, 23 more Kanyashram detainees who were female had to be admitted to the Soro community health centre (CHC) after becoming ill.

Sumati Mohanty, the secretary of the Kanyashram, stated that the convicts were taken to the hospital as soon as they began vomiting.

According to a doctor at the Soro CHC, the hostel residents had had a cold and cough for the past four days. According to the doctor, the girls' illnesses may have been caused by contaminated food and water served at the hostel.

According to Balasore Chief district Medical Officer Dulalsen Jagdeb, until an investigation is complete, "We would not be able to remark as to what caused the girl's death and sickness in other inmates."
