🎀 Who Is Eligible for the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?

The Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana (Delhi girl Child Scheme) is a financial support programme launched by the Delhi Government to help girls with education and long‑term financial security. It replaces the older Ladli scheme and provides staged deposits that grow to around 1lakh by age 21.

📌 Main Eligibility Conditions (Key Points)

To be eligible under this scheme, all of the following must be true:

The girl must be born in Delhi.

The girl’s family must have lived in delhi for at least 3 years.

The family’s annual income must be below the specified limit (currently about ₹1.20 lakh per year).

Benefits are limited to a maximum of two daughters per family.

➡️ This means that the scheme is designed specifically for girls who are residents of Delhi (born and living here with their family for a certain number of years).

What This Means for Girls From Other States

  • If a girl is merely studying in Delhi but was born elsewhere and her family has not been residing in delhi for the required period (typically 3+ years), she will not be eligible for this scheme under the current criteria.
  • Studying in delhi alone (without birth and residency requirement) does not meet the core eligibility condition.

🧠 Summary

Eligible: Girls born in Delhi whose families have lived in delhi for at least 3 years and whose household income is under the specified limit.
Not eligible: Girls from other states studying in Delhi who do not meet the birth and residency requirements — even if they live in the city for education.
