Similar to joshimath, landslides in Mussoorie...

Many residents have reportedly been evacuated from the uttarakhand city of joshimath because of soil subsidence and ongoing construction projects. Scientists now believe Mussoorie will experience a similar fate.

According to a photograph taken in Mussoorie following the joshimath sinking issue, the city's roads are also developing fractures, providing proof of ground subsidence. A group of scientists made the decision to visit Mussoorie to evaluate the situation in light of the evidence.

According to IANS, geoscientists and members of the Geotechnical Land survey Committee examined the Landour Bazar and South Road regions of Mussoorie to look into the land sinking after images of cracks on the road surfaces surfaced.

This team of geoscientists will compile a report based on this survey and deliver it to the State Disaster Management Authority within a week.

A decision will then be made regarding the new building projects in Mussoorie.

On Thursday, the geoscientists' group arrived at the Landour market.

They looked at the Landour Hotel, the South Road and Tehri Bypass Road area, and road subsidence close to a Jain temple. In uttarakhand, Mussoorie is a popular tourist destination and gets a lot of visitors throughout the summer and winter holidays. The city may be sinking due to this as well as construction projects undertaken to improve the city's development.
