A mouse and a frog were friends; they were not really suited, for the mouse lived entirely on land, while the frog was at home on land or in water. It was the unwise start of something tragic. One day, the frog said to the mouse, ‘Let’s find ourselves together with a string so that we may never be seperate’. ‘A splendid idea indeed.’ replied the mouse. The frog tied them together by the leg with a piece of string. On dry land all went well, but coming to pool, the frog jumped in, taking the mouse with him, and began swimming about. The unhappy mouse was drowned, and floated on the surface. He was spied by a eagle, who pounced down and sized him. The frog couldn’t loosen the knot binding him to the mouse and was carried off and also eaten by the eagle. Moral : Unwise start leads to a sad end.
