Samantha Ruth Prabhu is quite picky about the movies she chooses. So far, her decisions have paid off, as seen by the tremendous box office success of movies like U-Turn and Oh! Baby. Her 2022 film Yashoda fits into the same category because it gave audiences something new to experience and was largely successful despite following a pretty well-worn path in terms of some surprises.

The plot centres on a fraudulent surrogacy scheme in a magical setting. On ETV, Yashodha recently had its global television debut. Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, murali Sharma, sampath Raj, Kalpika, and other notable actors gave standout performances. For this movie, which Sivalenka krishna Prasad produced and sridevi Movies distributed, mani sharma composed the music. Speaking about the movie, samantha portrays Yashoda, a character whose existence is centred around her younger sister. She makes the difficult decision to become a surrogate mother in order to raise money for her sister's operation.
