ZEE5's new web series 'Taj Divided By Blood' begins with young Akbar, after winning many battles, the only thing missing in his life is an heir. Akbar has no children after three marriages, he appeals to meet Sheikh Salim Chishti to pray. The character of Sheikh Salim Chishti is played by Dharmendra. In this series of 10 episodes, dharmendra is only for this character in the first episode. This series is very different from what the common people know about Akbar. Akbar tries to somehow make Salim realize his responsibility, Murad to become compassionate and Daniyal to understand how to fight, but none of them live up to Akbar's expectations.

In the pages of history or say in the legends of that era, the example of the love of Salim and Anarkali is given. According to the web series 'Taj Divided by Blood', Akbar has kept Anarkali imprisoned in his harem for 14 years. Whenever Akbar feels like it, he goes to meet Anarkali in the harem. Then Salim and Anarkali meet and both fall in love. Akbar comes to know about it. Salim is ousted from the Sultanate and Durjan Singh is sentenced to death for helping him meet Anarkali. After all the upheavals, Akbar thinks that Daniyal can become his heir, but only then it is revealed that Salim is not dead but alive, which means that the next part of the series will also come.

The web series 'Taj Divided by Blood' is directed by Ron Scalpello. The producer of the series, abhimanyu Singh, has already said during the trailer launch that if no director from mumbai gets time, he will get a director from Hollywood. There is no doubt that the series has been shot in a very grand manner but despite this Ron has missed to capture the Hindustani feel in this series. Maharana Pratap has been seen fighting with a gun in the series. Maharana Pratap is shown to have died while hunting. The biggest disappointment in the series was seeing Dharmendra. His body is no longer supporting his passion. Here too he looks like a helpless artist.

The presence of naseeruddin shah also does the series no good. He may have been able to leave his impact through dialogues but his ooze is no longer visible in front of the camera. Aashim Gulati is seen imitating Aditya Rai Kapoor of 'Aashiqui 2' in every scene. The role of Anarkali, about which aditi rao hydari has been very enthusiastic, turned out to be very dull. Where is madhubala and where is Aditi!
