Leading telco Bharti airtel today announced a 20-25 per cent hike in prepaid plans.


Last July, airtel increased tariffs on its postpaid plans. In this case, the prepaid tariff has been increased.


Basic top-up projects have also been raised. Accordingly, the 48 rupees plan has been increased to 58 rupees. It comes with 3GB of data.


Out of this 98 rupees plan has been increased to 118 rupees and 251 rupees plan has been increased to 301 rupees.

Apart from this, the charges for the data plan with a free call facility have also been increased. 


Accordingly, the 298 rupees plan with 28 days has been increased to 359 rupees. It comes with an unlimited call service, 100 free SMS daily, and 2GB of data daily.


399 rupees plan, increased to 479 rupees. It is valid for 56 days. It also comes with an unlimited call service, 100 free SMS per day, and 1.5 GB of data per day.


379 rupees plan increased to 455 rupees. This is also valid for 84 days. It also comes with an unlimited call service, 100 free SMS per day, 6GB of data.


598 rupees plan, increased to 719 rupees. This is also valid for 84 days. It also comes with an unlimited call service, 100 free SMS per day, and 1.5 GB of data per day.


698 rupees plan, increased to 839 rupees. This is also valid for 84 days. It also comes with an unlimited call service, 100 free SMS per day, and 2GB of data per day.

Similarly, fees for year-round projects have also been raised.

Of this, the plan of Rs. 1,498 has been increased to Rs. 1,799. The fee for the Rs 2,498 project has been increased to Rs 2,999.


The tariff hike is aimed at enabling substantial investments required for the ARPU network and spectrum. The hike comes as airtel moves to launch 5g services in India. The new tariffs will come into effect from november 26.
