According to a recent RBI report, banks received fake notes worth Rs 5 crore in the year 2020-21. Out of the total 2,08,625 counterfeit notes seized, other banks caught 2,00,518 notes while RBI got 8107 fake notes. At the same time, in the year 2019-20, 30,054 fake notes of Rs 500 were caught i.e. an increase of 31.3% in the fake notes caught by the officials.

How to identify fake Rs 500 notes?
RBI has given a few main pointers to identify the note, after reading all these points, your work will become easy and then you will not face any loss.
* If you keep a 500 rupee note in front of the light, then you will see 500 written in special places.
*Even after keeping the note in front of the eye from an angle of 45 degrees, you will see 500 written in these places.
