We all know that there are two kidneys inside the human body. Even if one kidney is removed from these, the person still remains alive, but have you ever heard of a village where most of the people are missing a kidney from their stomach?
There is a village named Shenshayba Bazaar near the city of Herat in Afghanistan. You will be surprised to know that this village is recognized all over the world as a 'village with one kidney'.
Actually, the people here are forced to sell one of their kidneys. The people of the village are so helpless because of poverty that they have to sell body parts for 'food plates'. It is said that after the coming of Taliban rule, people are suffering from poverty so much that it has become very difficult for them to feed their families. This is the reason that most of the people here have sold their kidneys.
After selling the kidney, people are feeding their families with the money received from it. It is very common for people here to sell kidneys in the 'black market'. Alam is that most of the men and women of the village are now living with the help of only one kidney. Here a kidney is sold for about 2 lakh rupees.
