Superstar rajinikanth had last appeared in the revenge thriller petta helmed by karthik Subbaraj and was recently seen in his 167th movie darbar helmed by AR Murugadoss. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, darbar showcased Superstar rajinikanth as a cop post-Pandian and the movie had him teaming with lady superstar Nayanthara after chandramukhi besides nivetha thomas in a pivotal role.
Darbar had music scored by anirudh and also features suniel shetty and Prateik Babbar. The movie ended as a huge disaster and the distributors even demanded compensation for the losses from the actor. In this case, Rajini fans are so upset, as nayantara has been roped in once again for director Siva's movie too.
'Darbar' failed miserably due to nayantara as the combination scenes between Superstar and Nayanthara never worked out. Also, Nayantara's costumes were badly criticized by everyone and the movie critics called Nayanthara as the worst pair ever for Super Star. 'Thalaivar 168' already features an array of actresses like Meena, Khushbu Sundar, Keerthy suresh, so on. The shooting for the movie is currently happening in red Hills, chennai and then the team is moving to Ramoji Film City.
