Versatile hero Suriya was last seen on screen in the action thriller Kaappaan, marking his third collaboration with director KV anand post the super successful Ayan and the mediocre Maatraaan, and the movie was bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
Kaappaan was released worldwide last september 20, and unfortunately had received negative reviews, though several farmers associations have praised the movie and it was affected by the back to back big releases such as Namma Veettu Pillai, Asuran.
Recently lyca productions had declared officially that Kaappaan has collected more than 100 crores worldwide and the team of the movie comprising the main actors Suriya, KV anand, Arya, Sayyeshaa and harris jayaraj had a success celebration held in Chennai. Now, a trade pundit has lashed out at the makers and called this a big sham. In a tv interview, he revealed that the movie was a huge flop and theater owners and distributors suffered a lot as the movie was sold for a huge price. But, the makers and the actor celebrated success meet in star hotel without even considering their actual losses. He also revealed that Surya's 'NGK' was a disaster.
