The delay of hollywood movies has clearly indicated that there is zero chance of reopening of theaters in the near future. Initially, christopher Nolan's 'TENET' was scheduled to release on July 14th and now it has been pushed to July 31st. Similarly, WW84 has pushed its release to october 2nd for the third time. Black Widow which was supposed to release on May has now moved to November.
At the same time, most of the hollywood releases have also opted for an OTT release. "You Should Have Left" horror movie featuring Amanda Seyfried will be releasing in the OTT platform this Friday. 'Godzilla Vs Kong' which should have been released by 2020 has now moved to May 2021. The movie which was initially planned as a theatrical release has now been shifted to OTT release. Most of the hollywood releases are now shifting to OTT platforms as the chances are looking bleak in the near future as the Corona never shows any signs of slowing down.
Similarly, South indian cinemas are also planning for OTT releases. Famous tamil producer JSK Gopi has decided to release 3 of his tamil movies in OTT platforms directly. These clearly indicate that the chances of reopening theaters won't happen at least until 2021.
