The Income Tax authorities apparently recognised superstar akshay kumar, who has always been meticulous about paying his taxes, as the nation's "highest taxpayer" recently. Akshay responded to ANI's inquiry by saying: "To yehi gaya hai, Ji mujhe kaha (about being the highest taxpayer). I feel incredibly honoured. It's wonderful that the Income Tax Agency acknowledges everything and gives everyone credit. It's also a wonderful thing to offer money earned to the nation." The jubilant khiladi actor exclaimed, "It's one of the nicest feelings."


According to reports, Kumar was on the forbes list of the world's highest-paid entertainers in 2015 and 2019, coming in at number 52 with earnings of USD 48.5 million (Rs 386 crore approx). A significant portion of his income comes from brand endorsements in addition to movies. Fans praised akshay kumar as a "responsible citizen" after news broke that the Income Tax Bureau had honoured the actor.
