It is now becoming clear that the hero Raviteja genuinely owns this movie, but circumstances conspired to prevent that from happening.
Back then, Raviteja was notorious for turning down movies like Pokiri, Pataas, and oosaravelli (this movie was also told to Ram), and many of the movies he turned down went on to become box office successes. The mass hero reportedly wasn't thrilled when director Vasishta originally told him this tale because he thought playing a character with such dark overtones may negatively impact his career.
