Pointing to her husband's absence, she shared that she thought they would get into a situation where they would find time for each other, which never happened. She had said, "Perhaps I expected more from my husband. I thought we would be together for a long time. However, I never felt that absence until now. When I got married, I thought we would make an arrangement that suits all of us but didn't happen, still ok. I accept the situation. I got my daughters. There are many problems to take care of them. As a human being, I regret It's bound to happen… But he loves me madly. When I think about his feelings for me, I love everything, even his physical absence."

On the occasion of her 74th birthday in october 2022, actress hema malini shared two pictures with her husband dharmendra from her instagram account.
