Om Raut's `Adipurush' was released and played in theatres ! But the disputes are not resolved. Investigations are going on in the courts. It is known that 'Adipurush' faced allegations of distorting the characters in the mythological epic Ramayana. Since its release, the film has faced backlash from some Hindus.

In this context, a petition was filed in the supreme court seeking cancellation of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for the film. But this petition has now been defeated in the supreme Court. This is a big relief for the Adipurush team. The supreme court on friday rejected the petition stating that the court is not inclined to interfere with the CBFC's decision to grant a certificate to the film Adipurush.

A news report quoted Justice Kaul as saying, ``Nowadays everyone is getting involved in everything like films, books, etc.'' The allahabad high court, which is hearing the petitions challenging the depiction of Ramayana in Adipurush, has stayed the proceedings, the report said. The high court had earlier directed the makers of the film to appear before it on July 27.

Earlier this month, ``Aadipurush'' writer Manoj Muntashir also admitted that the film had hurt people's sentiments. He issued a public apology. ``I agree that people's emotions were hurt by Adipurush. With both hands folded, I apologize unconditionally,'' he added.
