In his opening remarks, Rajinikanth recalled his first encounter with Nelson Dilipkumar, the director of the movie. Amusingly, Rajini had originally scheduled a meeting with Nelson for 10:00 AM, but since he was aware of Nelson's propensity for sleeping in late, he changed the time to 11:30 AM. Nelson was only able to get there at midday, though. Despite this, he immediately and jokingly requested a cup of strong coffee.

Rajinikanth addressed the doubts about continuing with Nelson as the director and candidly admitted the unfavourable reviews "Beast" (a Vijay-starring movie) received. Rajini said that the sun Pictures/TV team reassured him there was no loss for distributors, despite recommendations to change the director, despite the film's poor reviews.

Rajinikanth admitted that after "Annaatthe," he became bored of reading screenplays that were either high-budget movies or utterly unrelated to what he desired, or that were either similar to his previous blockbusters like "Annamalai" or "Baasha." Rajini also asked that the word "Superstar" be taken out of a song's lyrics during the event. The 'Superstar' label, he said, has been a persistent irritation for him, and he made it clear that he had long since asked for its removal. He also added jokingly that the only things he is terrified of are god and nice people.

When Rajini said a story about a Crow and Eagle, netizens are assuming he is speaking indirectly about Vijay who always targets him with his PR gang and gold Coin Mafia on social media.
