In Once Upon a Time in mumbai, ajay Devgan and emraan hashmi played the roles of gangster Haji Mastan and Dawood

Ibrahim. Haji Mastan was a very popular gangster in mumbai during the 1960s and 1970s. It is believed that Haji Mastan

was one of those people who laid the foundation of the underworld in Mumbai. Haji Mastan, who came to mumbai at

the age of 8, used to run a puncture shop with his father. Which did not work well, so he started working as a porter for

Haj pilgrims.

When he saw that Haj pilgrims were not searched much, it was from here that he started smuggling gold. While

smuggling, he became the first don of Mumbai. There was a time when the name of Haji Mastan became known

throughout Mumbai. However, despite being a notorious don, Haji never shot at anyone.

Mastan formed a party in 1980–81, Dalit Muslim Suraksha Mahasangh. This was the first experiment in indian politics

when the political alliance of Dalits and Muslims was thought of. The one who ended the name of Haji Mastan in Mumbai

was none other than his disciple Dawood Ibrahim. However, no allegation against Haji Mastan could ever be proved.
