Shah. While giving his reaction regarding Naseeruddin Shah’s divorce from his first wife and his other affairs, he said
that he has nothing to do with his past. In an interview given to Humans of Bombay, Ratna said about Naseeruddin
Shah’s divorce, I had nothing to do with his past life, I loved him. He was separated from his ex-wife for a long time.

Talking about her and Naseeruddin Shah's love story, Ratna told that they met for the first time during a play. He said,
We were doing a play together. It was named From intercourse to retirement. We soon realized that we wanted to
be together. We were stupid, we didn't ask too many questions. Today people ask exactly the right questions. We said,
This sounds good, let's try and it worked.This was completely temporary. No one can take credit for this. It just
worked.
Naseeruddin Shah returned from honeymoon midway
Ratna Pathak further told that her marriage was not like what she had seen till now. Because a week after the
marriage, she and Naseeruddin went on honeymoon and in between Naseeruddin returned. Ratna told that
Naseeruddin had started shooting for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and during this time she could not even see him for many
days. She did not even know whether he was alive, dead or eloped with someone. It was madness at that time, she
says.
