Recently, a deepfake video purporting to be of rashmika mandanna has gone viral on social media. A lady may be seen entering a lift in the footage. It is altered to reveal Rashmika's face, though. While some social media users were duped into thinking the lady was rashmika, others pointed out that the woman in the film was not the actress and that the video was manipulated by AI.

The woman in the viral video is named Zara Patel; she is British-Indian and has over 400,000 instagram followers, according to a user on X (previously known as Twitter). She's wearing a black unitard with no sleeves. Zara patel first posted the video on october 9, 2023. The original video was also shared by many users, who criticized individuals who created similar films only to get views.

Additionally, other individuals said that the lady was rashmika mandanna and called for "strict action" against the people who published it. Another user said that the woman's visage changes from the other girl to rashmika right at the start of the video. 

“This is scary, where is our regulator?” asked a user on X.

Another wrote, “This is actually a very worrying scenario.”

It may be noted that earlier deepfake videos of celebrities like tom Cruise, Anne Hathaway, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil and others also surfaced on social media and created headlines.
