Mrunal Thakur's films may have garnered varied reviews from audiences and reviewers this year, but with the release of Selfiee, Gumraah, lust stories 2, Aankh Micholi, and Pippa, it's safe to say that 2023 has been very exciting for her. On december 7, her sixth project of the year will be released to theatres. Hi Nanna is her second telugu film after Sita Ramam (2022), and she will be partnered with south superstar nani for the first time.

Mrunal is now doing a film with vijay deverakonda and waiting for the release of pooja Meri jaan, which also stars Huma Qureshi. The latter is about a lady who is being pursued by an unnamed admirer. While most elements are being kept under wraps, Mrunal spilled the beans on the project and how filming for it was 'creatively gratifying' in an exclusive interview.

"We shot for pooja Meri jaan in Delhi," she explained. It was one of the nicest experiences because every day after pack-up, I'd just lay on my bed and felt so artistically fulfilled and grateful to god because I truly wanted to be a part of a film that would spark a discourse."

Filming pooja Meri jaan was also a cathartic experience for Mrunal, as it helped her find answers to various problems she had as a woman. "Whenever I read a script, I try to connect my character to who I am in real life." I had a lot of questions after reading the screenplay of pooja Meri jaan, but I didn't know how to address them. 'Wow, I've got to discover these answers,' I thought. "I discovered a new me while filming and realised that some of the things that happened to me in the past aren't okay," she explained.
