Trade experts have been attentively monitoring ticket sales in PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis (PIC), the national network of multiplexes, before each major bollywood film is released. The data has been made public in the last several years. The leading candidates, "Jawan" and "Pathaan," have surpassed the 5.5 lakh ticket threshold at PIC. "KGF 2" is not far behind, having sold more over 4 lakh tickets at PIC. With 1.45 lakh tickets sold at PIC, Hrithik Roshan's "Fighter" is the most popular film this year.
 
The big release this week, "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan," starring tiger shroff and Akshay Kumar, had everyone's attention. Expectations were quite high because the film was directed by ali Abbas Zafar, who is well-known for his blockbusters sultan and tiger Zinda Hai, and had a 350 crore budget. But the very low number of prior reservations led multiplex companies to conceal PIC ticket sales data.
 
Because manufacturers have directed multiplexes not to give data, trade experts are finding it difficult to track sales. It is feared that disclosing such low receipts will prematurely declare the movie a box office disaster before it even opens. Producers are trying to trick audiences by using concealment. The movie was supposed to be released on april 10 (a non-holiday), but it has been rescheduled for april 11, which is Eid. The film's producers anticipate that the holiday will bring in some reasonable box office receipts.
