Since his most recent film, Tillu Square, apparently made in the neighbourhood of Rs 100 crores, according to the creators, siddhu Jonnalagadda is a happy guy. But fast-forward to the present day, when there is an intriguing debate about the movie that is making the rounds and it has to do with the Hindutva movement. Coincidentally, a few Tillu Square scenarios are becoming widely popular on social media, and some online users are giving them a religious spin.

In these two sequences, siddhu first makes fun of a Muslim character named Zubair Bhai before teasing the movie's principal actress, Anupama Parameswaran, who portrays a Christian. On social media, these scenes are being viewed as sarcastic jabs at non-Hindu groups by the Hindutva movement. In fact, Hindutva organisations have dubbed siddhu the "Unapologetic Hindu Star Boy Siddhu."

The Hindutva group on social media seems to be reading too much into this; siddhu and the film's director may have really intended to parody the characters for comedic effect alone. Nevertheless, siddhu and his Tillu Square are succeeding in starting a few online discussions. watch out this space for more updates in this regard.
