Sarabjit was murdered in 2013
Sarabjit died on 26 june 2013 after being attacked for almost a week by Amir Sarfaraz Tamba and inmates inside Kot Lakhpat jail. He was kept in Kot Lakhpat jail of Lahore for 23 years. Amir Sarfaraz Tamba had killed indian citizen Sarabjit by attacking him with bricks and iron rods. He had killed Sarabjit on the instructions of ISI.

Talking about the biopic of Sarabjit Singh, 'Sarabjit' starring randeep hooda was released in 2016. The film also starred aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Darshan Kumar, and Richa Chadha among others. The film, directed by Omung Kumar, shows Sarabjit unknowingly crossing the Indo-Pak border while drunk and is captured by the Pakistani army. His sister Dalbir is fighting for justice and proving her brother innocent.
