Was refused to play the role of Bholi Punjaban…?

Richa Chadha is one of those few bollywood actresses, most of whose roles were offbeat and unconventional. From his first film 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' to the recent 'Hiramandi', he was seen experimenting with his characters. Along with her name, Richa is also known by the names of her characters. people had just become acquainted with nagma Khatoon of 'Gangs of Wasseypur', when her role of innocent punjabi in her next film 'Fukrey' started garnering people's applause.

Bholi Punjaban's special role

'Fukrey', released in 2013, was directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba. All the characters in the film were remembered by people in some way or the other. From breasts to honey and redness. Some liked Zafar and some liked Pandit. But there was one role which became everyone's favourite. This role was of Bholi Punjaban, which was played by Richa Chadha. Bholi Punjaban was seen in every part of Fukrey since then. While talking to ABP News, Richa spoke openly about this role.

Some people had stopped Bholi from becoming Punjaban

Richa told that many people stopped her from becoming Bholi Punjaban. When asked the reason, she said, "People thought that doing this role would stop me from getting ads for beauty products. My management team felt that by doing this we would not even get dance shows. Basically one is acting and one is the earning around it which for girls comes from these categories only. Like cosmetics, beauty products, dance shows and live appearances. So if you play such tom boy characters or rough characters, then there is a fear that you will not be able to get the benefit of all these things.
