28 people were killed and over 20 were injured in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's pahalgam area on april 22. The brutal attack took place when tourists had gathered in the Pasharan Valley. The terrorists first asked the tourists their names and religion and then targeted non-Muslims. This attack shook the country. This was condemned internationally by various countries. After the attack, security forces launched a manhunt and arrested more than 100 suspects. Many film celebrities have also posted condemnations of the pahalgam terrorist attack. In this regard, the condemnation post made by bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has been mired in controversy.
He posted on his X-site, "Words cannot describe the grief and anger felt at the inhuman attack in Pahalgam. At times like these, all I can do is pray to God, pray for the affected families, and express my deepest condolences. As a country, we must stand united and ensure justice against this cowardly attack." Criticizing Shah Rukh Khan's post, former Infosys officer Mohandas Pai posted: "It is a great shame that you did not call Pakistani Muslims Jihadi terrorists for killing innocent Hindus in the name of religion, Shah Rukh. You are trying to cover up with fake words that are devoid of honesty and meaning. Stand up as an indian for once to condemn Jihadi terrorists, Shah Rukh. Stop lying. If you really care, stand up for the trust of the men and women of your country. Stop being hypocritical and fake in such matters".
