I and director Yash Chopra were conscious about the fact that Rahul's love should not look like lust. If he wanted, he could have taken advantage of kiran anytime but he says that I will marry you, I will introduce you to my mother. If he wanted, he could have even raped kiran in the film, when he is with her on a boat in a scene but he does not do so because we had to show the difference between lust and love in that character.
Shahrukh Khan also played 'darr' like characters in Baazigar (1993) and 'Anjaam (1994)'. In the film 'Baazigar', he kills the heroine's sister. Whereas in 'Anjaam', he troubles the heroine i.e. Madhuri Dixit a lot and finally commits suicide. In both these films, Shahrukh Khan was successful in scaring the audience with his characters.
