Severe AQI Levels After Diwali

Delhi’s air quality dropped drastically post-Diwali.

AQI reached a hazardous level of 447 on tuesday morning.

Firecrackers were burst well beyond the prescribed two-hour limit, worsening pollution.

Mira Rajput’s Strong Reaction

Mira, the wife of actor shahid Kapoor, voiced her anger on Instagram.

She questioned the need for firecrackers:

“Why are we still bursting firecrackers? Even if it’s just once or for the kids — it’s not okay.”

She condemned using sparklers as part of celebrations, especially when done just for aesthetics.

Call to Stop Normalizing Firecrackers

Mira criticized people who excuse small acts like giving elders a sparkler, saying:

“Let’s stop normalizing this. If we do, our kids will repeat it, and the cycle continues.”

She emphasized that environmental responsibility shouldn't be selective or seasonal.

Highlighted hypocrisy in making kids create Earth Day posters while allowing firecrackers on Diwali.

Focus on Children's Health

Mira stressed AQI isn’t just news for instagram stories, but about the air children breathe.

Said she wouldn’t let her kids watch fireworks if others continue enjoying them irresponsibly.

Criticized the lack of common sense despite education and privilege.
