Actor harshvardhan rane won massive appreciation for his performances in Sanam Teri Kasam and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.

Interestingly, he was not the first choice for either of these films.

Both movies later became defining projects of his bollywood journey.

Not the Makers’ First Pick

Harshvardhan revealed in an interview with IANS that the lead roles in both films were initially offered to other actors.

Despite not being the first option, destiny had other plans, and the roles eventually came his way.

His persistence and auditions played a crucial role in this turnaround.

Journey of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’

Sanam Teri Kasam was released on 5 february 2016, marking Harshvardhan’s bollywood debut.

The film starred him opposite Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane.

Initially, the movie failed to perform well at the box office.

Harshvardhan auditioned for the role and was asked to audition again within an hour.

During the second audition, the director reportedly became emotional.

Even though another actor had already been offered the role, the makers were impressed by Harshvardhan’s performance.

Re-release Turned the Tables

Years later, Sanam Teri Kasam was re-released in 2025.

The film became a blockbuster, collecting over ₹30 crore.

Audiences especially loved the emotional storyline and the pairing of Harshvardhan and Mawra.

Entry into ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’

The lead role in Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was also first offered to someone else.

Director Milap Milan Zaveri contacted Harshvardhan on 7 February 2016, just three days after Sanam Teri Kasam released.

Harshvardhan immediately agreed, as he admired Milap Zaveri’s work.

Why Harshvardhan Chose Milap Zaveri

Harshvardhan praised milap zaveri for making films for tier-2 and tier-3 audiences.

He appreciated the director’s focus on emotional, mass-oriented storytelling.

According to Harshvardhan, working with Milap helped him grow as an actor.

Audience love and Critical Praise

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was released in 2025 and performed well.

Harshvardhan’s intense and emotional performance received widespread acclaim.

Both films proved that sometimes not being the first choice leads to the biggest success.
