The protests of Kapu has crossed limits and it even resulted in torching of a police station and bogies of the intercity Ratnachal Express. Padmanabham who spoke to media at his native Kirlampudi village in East Godavari said, "It is due to Kapus Naidu came into power in 2014 elections.
It has been more than 20 months but his promise is not yet delivered. We demand that a GO will be issued demanding the quota for Kapus. If nothing happens, I along with my wife will sit on an indefinite hunger strike here this coming Friday."
Immediately four Kapu ministers from Naidu's cabinet addressed media and asked the community to stay patient and they assured Naidu will deliver his promise. Deputy chief minister N.Chinna Rajappa and ministers P.Narayana, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and P.Manikyala Rao said,
"The Manjunath commission has been appointed to examine the demand for inclusion of Kapus in BC list. The report for 9 months is yet to be submitted. We urge the community to be patient and not to show their agitation through violence."
