Four Rajya Sabha MPs have shifted from TDP to BJP and are also recognized as the Members of BJP in the Upper House. The crisis in TDP is far from over as Ganta Srinivasa Rao is said to be leading a group of TDP MLAs to the BJP. Ganta along with the other MLAs are holidaying in Colombo, sri Lanka. They are reportedly in touch with Sujana Chowdary.
Apart from Ganta, Telugu Desam legislators Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar (Vizag south), Annangi satya Prasad (Repalle), Dola bala Veeranjaneya Swamy (Kondepi) and Vallabhaneni vamsi Mohan (Gannavaram) are said to have confirmed that they were ready to cross over. They need a minimum of 15 MLAs to avert the anti-defection law.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao is a businessman who has worked in three parties. He started his career with the Telugu Desam Party and later joined the Praja Rajyam. He went to the Congress with the merger and returned to the Telugu Desam Party just before the 2014 elections. This will the fourth Party Change for Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
