Union Finance minister nirmala sitharaman, who is on a tour of poll-bound telangana as part of BJP's "Lok Sabha Prawas Yojana" program, visited a ration shop in Birkur on Friday. For this, the central government spends approximately Rs 30, while the state government provides only Rs 4. Ever since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Modi government has been providing free five kg rice under the Pradhan Mantri Garib kalyan Anna Yojana. All logistics and storage costs are borne by the Central Government. Why should we protest against the installation of the portrait of the great leader (Prime minister Modi) in Telangana?” he asked.
Chandrasekhara Rao has accused the government of rejecting Modi's pictures in ration shops and tearing and vandalizing the Prime Minister's flex when it is placed. She immediately ordered district Collector Jitesh Patil, who had accompanied her, to provide security to the pictures of the prime minister in the shops.
Today their people will install the picture of PM Modi here. As the district Administrator, they should ensure that the picture is not removed, torn, or damaged in any way, nirmala sitharaman instructed the district Collector. Earlier, nirmala sitharaman had asked the district Collector to give the details of the central and state government's share in subsidized rice to the people.
