Health minister Veena George has given administrative approval for the NABARD financial assistance of Rs 47.93 crore for the construction of new buildings at Pulayanarkota Chest Hospital and Kuttyadi Taluk Hospital, Kozhikode. Out of this 7.19 crore is the state share. Pulayanarkota Chest Hospital has been allocated Rs 28.50 crore and Kuttyadi Taluk Hospital Rs 19.43 crore. 

Pulayanarkota Chest Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in the capital. Due to the age of the building, it was very difficult to develop the hospital. The action is based on the fact that minister Veena George directly visited the hospital and discussed the development activities. A 3-storied building is being constructed.

The cellar floor of the new building has a CT scan, X-ray, laboratory, ultrasound scan, sleep lab, hiv clinic, minor procedure room, pre and post-operation wards, tobacco clinic, pulmonary gym, ground floor pharmacy store, outpatient treatment area, casualty, There will be Allergy Clinic, tb MDR, Specialty Clinic, Observation Ward, OP Counter and classroom and conference hall on the first floor.

Kuttyadi Taluk Hospital situated in Kunummal Block in Kuttyadi Constituency is a mainstay of the people of this hilly region. As the hospital is adjacent to the state highway, many precious lives have been saved by modernizing the emergency department and installing necessary systems. Apart from this, a new building is being constructed to provide more facilities. A six-storiedAllot building complex is being constructed.
