The indian Navy received the fourth Scorpene submarine, Vela. Yard 11878, Project-75's fourth submarine, was delivered to the indian Navy. Six Scorpion submarines are being built as part of Project-75. The Masachan Shipbuilding Company in mumbai is producing this type of submarine in collaboration with the Mr. Naval Group in France. The submarine, codenamed 'Vela,' entered service on May 6, 2019 and has completed all maritime training between Kovit-19 commands, including all major ports and armament and sensor drills.

The indian Navy already has three submarines of this type in service. This is a challenging task because the submarine's construction is complex, and all of the equipment must be compact and subjected to rigorous quality testing. The development of such submarines at an indian shipyard is seen as another another step toward India's independence. The indian Navy's capability will be enhanced by the prompt deployment of the submarine, according to the Ministry of Defense.

Following the strength and elongation of Chinese boats in the indian Ocean Region, the indian Navy has prioritised modernizing its submarine capabilities and naval force. There are currently 12 submarines in the indian Navy. In addition, the navy's force has two nuclear submarines, the INS Arihant and the INS Chakra. The Defense Department cleared a long-delayed proposal for the production of six submarines valued over Rs. 50,000 as part of the P75I project
