India to add 80 new airports in 3years!!!

Fast work is being done for air travel across the country. According to the current central government, the number of airports in the country has increased from 74 to 141 in the last eight years. Now the Ministry of Civil Aviation has said that in the next four to five years this number will increase to 220. That is, in these four-five years, about 80 new airports will start functioning. The work of some of these airports is already going on which the work will be completed soon.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has given 'in-principle' approval for setting up 21 greenfield airports across the country, including Goa's Mopa. These include, Navi Mumbai, Shirdi and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Hassan and Shivamogga in Karnataka, Dabra in Madhya Pradesh, Kushinagar and noida (Jewar) in Uttar Pradesh, Dholera and Hirasar (Rajkot) in Gujarat, Karaikal in Puducherry, Andhra The state includes Dagadarthi (Nellore), Bhogapuram and Orvakal (Kurnool), Durgapur in West Bengal, Pakyong in Sikkim, Kannur in kerala and Hollongi (Itanagar) in Arunachal Pradesh.

Work will start at 35 airports in the next one year

So far, a total of eight greenfield airports in the country – Durgapur, Shirdi, Sindhudurg, Pakyong, Kannur, Kalaburagi, Orvakal and Kushinagar have been started. According to the Ministry of Aviation, in the financial year 2022-23, the Center has given the site approval to the himachal pradesh government to build a new greenfield airport at Nagchala in Mandi. Apart from this, 35 airports, helipads and water airports have been targeted for development during the financial year 2022-23 under RCS-UDAN.

As per DGCA car (Civil Aviation) for security purposes, an airport has to carry out instructions regarding its management systems, operating procedures, physical characteristics, evaluation and treatment of obstacles, visual aid, rescue and fire services, an official said. Whereas these guidelines are for the license of the airport from a technical point of view. The license to operate the airport is given by the Central Government, as per the Civil Aviation Policy.
