In Telangana, beer sales have increased along with the mercury level, which is rising daily. An astounding 4.23 crore bottles of beer were sold in the State between May 1 and May 18, according to official figures, bringing in Rs 582.99 crore from the sale of beer alone during that time.

As the temperature continues to climb, excise authorities anticipate a further boost in beer sales over the following two weeks. In May, they anticipate that beer sales would surpass Rs 1,000 crore. Excise officials report that throughout the course of this month's 18 days, 19 depots sold around 35,25,247 cartons totaling 4,23,02,964 beer bottles throughout the State. Beer drinkers in the State consumed 23,50,164 beer bottles and 1,95,847 beer cans on a daily average.

In the State, there are 1,172 taverns and restaurants and roughly 2,650 wine stores. During these 18 days, beer sales were highest in the nalgonda district and lowest in Karimnagar. 3,00,364 cartons of beer worth Rs 48.14 crore were sold in the nalgonda district. On the other side, just 13,26,347 spirits cartons were sold in 18 days, generating revenue for the government through e-sales of Rs 904,47 crore. With 1,20,334 cartons selling for Rs 78.42 crore, the Rangareddy district led the nation in alcohol sales. The nalgonda area ranked second for sales of alcohol.
