The voyage of telangana in the medical and health sector, according to IT minister KT Rama Rao, is a new chapter in the history of the sector in the nation. With the amenities added to government hospitals during the past nine years, the State's public health system has become a national model.

In the former Andhra Pradesh, the public health system was not taken care of, and people were afraid to seek medical attention in government facilities. Earlier, humorous captions such as "Nenu Ranu Biddo Sarkaru Dawakhanaku" (I will not go to the government hospital for treatment) were written by poets and journalists. "Chalo Podam Padara Sarkaru Dawakhanaku" (let us go to the government hospital for treatment) was now the new phrase, he claimed.

He said the Rajanna-Sircilla district was a prime example of this transition and that the establishment of sophisticated equipment at the Vemulawada regional hospital and the sircilla district office will improve patient care. The State government's numerous measures over the past nine years have contributed to the public's growing confidence in public hospitals. After the creation of a separate State, chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he said, has made a lot of steps to develop the medical and health sector. He added that every choice, from kcr kits to Nutrition kits and from dialysis clinics to diagnostic centers, was one-of-a-kind and historic.

Rama Rao participated in the health Day programme here and gave pregnant ladies kcr Nutrition kits. Later, the minister broke ground on a girl child home at Mandapalli, in Thangallapalli mandal, and opened an old age home, a creche and both.
