The three open cast mines owned by The singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) will begin production in December. The business intends to begin operations in the Rompedu Open Cast Mine in Yellandu, the Goleti Open Cast Mine in Bellampalli, and the VK Coal Mine in Kothagudem. N Sridhar, the chairman and managing director of singareni Company, gave the order to complete the required preparations to begin operations in these three open cast mines by the end of the year during a review meeting on Wednesday.

He added that the company was expecting to produce at least 3 lakh tonnes of coal this year against the annual coal production target of 20 lakh tonnes from GK open cast mine (Rompedu OC) and 5 lakh tonnes against the annual production target of 35 lakh tonnes from Goleti open cast mine, even though the annual production target for VK Coal Mine has been set at 43 lakh tonnes.

The CMD instructed the staff to commence the Naini coal block in Odisha's operations. All of these mines needed to begin operations in order to meet the goal of producing 750 lakh tonnes of coal during the current fiscal year, he added.
