Over 55,000 cusecs are received by the srisailam project from the Tungabhadra project, another significant source of inflows. In contrast to the 130 TMC gross storage capacity, the project might develop live storage up to 65 TMC. The watershed is expected to have more rain through the end of the month, which is encouraging for all the projects in the lower basin.

When compared to its gross storage capacity of 215 TMC, srisailam has a live storage of just 33.67 TMC, hence it is anticipated that the discharges from Jurala would help raise the water levels there. As telangana and andhra pradesh began using water from the nagarjuna sagar project to satisfy their drinking water demands, its levels are fast declining. Against a gross storage capacity of 312 TMC, the project's live storage has decreased to 143 TMC. Only 12 TMC of water remain in the project that might be used to supply the telugu States' urgent requirements.
