A two-judge panel of the telangana high court, made up of Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili and Justice J Anil Kumar, criticised the government Order that mandated a handicap of at least 70% in order to receive preferential treatment for a position as a teacher in the local category. The GO was challenged in a writ case by a person named Chintha nataraj on the grounds that it violated the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. The petitioner claimed that this was unfair. While adjudicating the matter, the court noted that the GO was in breach of the Disabilities Act and decided that it should be overturned.
SHRC jurisdiction questioned
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC)'s decision to issue directives on issues outside of its purview drew criticism from the telangana High Court. M. srihari and three other people submitted a writ petition challenging the SHRC's decision to consider all types of grievances. They claimed that in relation to a claim for ownership of property in Kokapet, the Commission has instructed them to maintain the status quo.
The petitioners claimed that notwithstanding the Commission's observation that the complainant might also file a police report and move the Civil court, it exceeded its authority by ordering the status quo order. The Division Bench, which was made up of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice T Vinod Kumar, cited prior decisions by the supreme court and high court holding that the Human Rights Commission lacks authority to address such matters. As a result, it approved the writ petition that invalidated the SHRC's ruling from november 22.
Action against hotel sought
The issue of issues Mallepally people were having with the prince Hotel, which had no authorization or legal approvals, was filed with Justice NV shravan Kumar. The judge instructed the ghmc to follow the law and take the proper steps. Mallepally resident Mohd Abdul Salam had claimed that there were issues because guests of the prince Hotel were parking illegally in front of his home. In addition, the petitioner claimed that despite many complaints, local authorities were ignoring the hotel's illegal operations. He also wanted the hotel torn down. The matter was resolved.
