The number of registered voters in telangana has risen to a record-breaking 3 crore once more. A considerable increase of 19 lakh votes has been seen during the past five years. There were 2.8 crore voters in the state as of the general elections in 2018. However, the election commission anticipated a rise to 2.99 crore voters as of january 2023.

The fact that a sizable section of the electorate in the state is made up of women and young people is particularly significant. 2.12 crore votes, or an astounding 71 percent, are women and young people. The election Commission's statistics also show that there are 2.78 lakh voters in the 18 to 19-year-old age bracket.

A significant rearrangement occurred during the january update of the electoral roll. While 6.84 lakh new names were successfully registered, 2.72 lakh names were eliminated from the final list for different reasons. In preparation for the forthcoming elections, which are anticipated to be conducted using the amended and finalized voters' list, scheduled to be released in october 2023, the state has constructed a total of 34,891 polling places.

The election commission is providing individuals with an additional chance to exercise their right to vote in light of the impending assembly elections. people can specifically use this chance to add their names to the electoral rolls or move their registration to a different constituency.

The procedure of adding names to the electoral registers will take place from august 21 to september 19. Applications and objections will then be carefully examined beginning on september 28. On october 4, the final and undisputed voter list will be made public.
