According to information presented by the Ministry of Power and New & Renewable Energy in the lok sabha during the recently concluded monsoon session, over the past five years, the Centre has distributed funds to gujarat, Karnataka, maharashtra, and madhya pradesh under various federal programmes to promote solar energy totaling Rs. 1957 crore, Rs. 682.56 crore, Rs. 814.17 crore, and Rs. 621.01 crore. However, telangana has only received a modest allocation of Rs. 253.6 crore. In actuality, telangana received less than Rs. 55 crore annually.According to information provided to the House, gujarat received funding of Rs. 1242.71 crore during the 2021–22 fiscal year and Rs. 1114.65 crore during the 2022–23 fiscal year, whereas telangana received just Rs. 49.11 crore and Rs. 42.81 crore during the same time periods.
The solar energy systems deployed in the State were producing electricity at their maximum potential, according to representatives of telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO), the nodal body for the execution of new and renewable energy initiatives in the State. telangana now generates 6745.46 mu out of a total solar power generation potential of around 7200 mu units. Which indicates that the majority of the state's solar power units are operating at their best capacity, according to an official.
