V. Hanumantha Rao, a former president of the PCC, criticized the BRS administration for reportedly auctioning off a five-acre plot of property belonging to a shiva temple in Khanapur, a hamlet in the Gandipet Mandal. He went to the location on sunday after reading about it in a telugu newspaper. "How is it possible for the government to give corporations property that belongs to a temple? Hanumantha Rao, a former rajya sabha member, claimed that although the government claims there is no space to build double beds, it gives property to the wealthy.

He said that the BRS administration was taking back land that the previous congress administrations had granted to the poor and auctioning it off. "This is not promising for them. It is immoral to take over the temple lands. The poor's assigned land is being reclaimed, he claimed.

He said that corporations were making millions of dollars by selling villas constructed on land tracts reclaimed from the impoverished. Caste associations were receiving land from the government. Hanumantha Rao questioned, "What about the common people of those castes?" So far there is no response from BRS regarding all these allegations. They have kept a muted response in this regard.
