The passenger traffic at Hyderabad's rajiv gandhi International airport (RGIA) increased by 24.1% in august 2023 as compared to the same month in the previous year, continuing the airport's rising trend. the airport welcomed 2,036,328 passengers in total during the month, up from 1,640,771 travellers in august 2022, according to figures made public by the Airports Authority of India.

3,39,177 foreign and 16,97,151 domestic travellers passed through RGIA in August. Both domestic and foreign travellers have used the airport as a crucial entry point. Along with an increase in passenger volume, RGIA saw an increase in aircraft traffic movements. The airport saw 14,388 aircraft movements in august, which is a substantial increase of 13.7% over the same month the year before.

Recently, GMR hyderabad International airport Ltd (GHIAL), the organisation in charge of running RGIA, revealed that it has been given a distinguished 4-star rating by Skytrax, adding to its list of accomplishments. On Thursday, customs officers at rajiv gandhi International airport Shamshabad thwarted a gold smuggling attempt and recovered 206 grammes of gold from a passenger.
