Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman disbursed a loan amount of Rs 3,749 crore under the Prime Minister's Loan Scheme in Coimbatore.

Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended the grand loan disbursement ceremony held at Kodisia Arena, Coimbatore. Speaking at that time, Madhya said, "We are making an effort to see if the subsidy goes to the beneficiaries through the banks. We have done this in Puducherry, Rajasthan, sikkim and Nagaland. This initiative was started in coimbatore in August. Accordingly, 1278 crore rupees retail loan is given to 23,800 people in the present ceremony. Also 2904 new Mudra Loans are issued today. Similarly, Stand Up india Loan for scheduled caste and Hilly youth and women in rural areas is available for 18 people worth nearly 4 crores. 9.27 crore loans are given to 7911 street vendors. 1043 crore loan assistance to MSMEs. Also 2867 farmers are given loan assistance of Rs 30 crore. Similarly, agricultural sector related loan assistance is provided. 3749 crore loan assistance to more than one lakh bank accountants due to the initiative since August.


Gone are the days when we used to go to banks in search of loans, now banks are looking for us. And we have the only bank (SIDBI) in our country that can give loans to small businesses. Today the second SIDBI bank has opened in coimbatore," he said.
