4 025 passport applications have been approved by the Regional Passport office in hyderabad as part of the massive pendency clearance effort on Saturday. The number of applications pending has increased as a result of the PSKs and POPSKs operating on Saturdays and the RPO starting to operate in camp mode.

According to Dasari Balaiah, RPO hyderabad, 25 officers from various RPOs and RPO hyderabad processed 4,025 files as part of the effort, and the passports will be sent out in two to three days. The passport seva portal was recommended as a place for applicants to check the progress of their applications as they waited for their passports to arrive.

Balaiah urged the applicants not to approach brokers/touts for their passport requirements and to instead go straight to RPO Hyderabad. Cases have been filed against brokers/touts who were offering passport services on priority and on payment of substantial amounts. According to him, applicants can go to the public grievance redressal counters at RPO secunderabad to settle their issues if they are urgent and have documentation of that urgency.

Other modes of registering grievances are, email to rpo.hyderabad@mea.gov.in, registering in Passport Seva Portal and posting on X  @rpohyderbad handle, which would be attended depending on the merits of the application and urgency.
